Getting help in Gameheim: the Support panel, the support assistant and support requests

For everyone on a Gameheim team. This page explains the Support panel: how to ask the support assistant where something is or how to do it, how it checks your own setup and gives you ready-to-paste configuration, and how to send a question to the Gameheim support team when the guides are not enough.

Questions come up in the middle of the work

A new tool brings small questions every day. Where is the setup code of the agent? Who can change the plan of the studio? Why does the submit not move my task? How do I connect my AI assistant to the project? Each one takes a minute to answer if you know where to look, and much longer if you have to search a documentation site or wait for someone to reply.

Setup problems are harder still, because the answer depends on your own machine and account: whether the agent is online, whether your workspace and credentials are in place, whether the project is on Perforce or Git. A generic guide cannot see any of that.

The Support panel and the support assistant

Every page of Gameheim has a Support button in the top bar (a speech bubble with a question mark), also opened with Shift+?. It opens the Support panel at the side of the page, so you can ask a question without leaving what you are doing. The support assistant answers from the official Gameheim guides and from the map of the app, in the language you write in.

  • Links you can follow: the answer names the page where something is, with a button that opens it in place, and the section of the guide it comes from, which opens in a new tab. The assistant only links pages and guides that exist.
  • Your role in mind: if what you ask needs a role or a permission you do not have, the answer tells you who can do it, for example the LEAD of your organization.
  • Checks of your setup: for a setup problem, the assistant can read the state of your own account, such as whether your agent is online and up to date, whether your workspace and credentials for the selected project are in place, and what your plan includes. It reads states, versions and counts, never file names or the content of your projects.
  • Configuration ready to paste: on the integration pages, Set up with the assistant opens the panel to set the integration up. Configuration snippets for AI assistants, the Unreal crash reporter and task updates come filled with your real values by Gameheim itself, not written by the AI.
  • A person when you need one: Write to the support team turns the conversation into a request, already written for you to check. The Gameheim team answers in the app, and an email tells you when it does.
Note:Answers are written by AI from the guides and can be wrong: check the guide each answer cites. Your conversations are visible to you only. The Gameheim team sees one only when you attach it to a support request. Do not write confidential information about your project in the panel.

How to ask for help in Gameheim

Before you start
  • A Gameheim account. The Support panel is part of the app; the public guides are open to everyone at /docs.
  1. Open the Support panel

Click Support in the top bar or press Shift+?. The first time, read the notice and click Got it, start. When the page you are on has a guide, Guide for this page at the top of the panel opens it.

  2. Ask your question

Write what you want to do or find, for example "Where do I find the setup code of the agent?" or "Why is my agent offline?", and press Enter. Select the project first when the question is about a project: the assistant uses it for the checks of your setup.

  3. Follow the answer

Use the buttons under the answer to open the page of the app or the section of the guide it cites. When the answer comes with a snippet, read where it goes and click Copy. Ask a follow-up question in the same conversation if something is still unclear.

  4. Tell us whether it helped

Rate the answer with the thumbs under it, and click It solved my problem when you are done. The ratings show the Gameheim team which guides need more work.

  5. Write to the support team if the guides are not enough

Click Write to the support team. Gameheim prepares the request from the conversation, with a summary of the checks of your setup at the end: change what you need, attach a screenshot if it helps, and send it. You find the reply, and every conversation you had with the assistant, in My requests (the list icon at the top of the panel).

What the support assistant reads

It readsIt never reads
The public Gameheim guides and the map of the appTasks, bugs, wiki pages, documents or messages of your projects
Your role, your permissions and the page you are onFile names, depot paths, server addresses or the text of an error
When a setup question needs it: the state of your agents, of your workspace and credentials for the selected project, and of your planPasswords, keys or the configuration snippets filled for you

When the assistant cannot answer with AI right now, the panel shows the guides that match your question instead, and you can still write to the support team.

Frequently asked questions

Does the support assistant use the AI quota of my studio?

No. The support assistant is provided by Gameheim and does not count against the AI included in your organization's plan. The AI features you use on your projects, such as the project chat or crash explanations, keep their own quota.

Can my LEAD read my conversations with the support assistant?

No. Your conversations are visible to you only, in My requests. When you send one to the support team, the Gameheim team sees that conversation with the request; nobody in your organization sees it.

Can the support assistant change my settings or run commands?

No. It answers, links pages and guides, and reads the state of your setup. Every change is made by you, in the page the answer points to.

Can I search the Gameheim guides from my IDE?

Yes. Connect your AI assistant to the Gameheim MCP server, as explained in the guide on AI assistants, and it can call the search_gameheim_docs tool to find the sections of the guides that answer a question about using or setting up Gameheim.
